Production of raw components

Industrial warehouse complex No. 2 has stated operating rather recently—since 2013.

This shop is focused on the production of tabular alumina (laminar corundum) and magnesium-aluminate spinel.

The complex consists of the following sections:

  • raw materials grinding;
  • granulation;
  • drying and baking;
  • crushing and classification;
  • fine grinding.

The operation at all process stage is provided in a twenty-four-hour mode, which allows us to produce more than 20,000 tonnes of tabular alumina per year.

Production starts fr om accepting raw materials and acceptance test (incoming inspection). After the raw warehouse, the material is supplied to buffer bins via the pneumatic conveying system, from which, strictly in accordance with the technology process, it is batched and supplied to the ball mill for crushing and mixing. After crushing, this material becomes ball-shaped using granulation drums; then the granules go to the drying chamber and then to the shaft furnace, wh ere hard firing occurs at the temperature exceeding 1,800 °C.

The final stage of varied-fractions tabular alumina production is the CSS (crushing and screening section). Prior to supplying the material to the CSS for classification by fractions, prebaked granules are subject to mandatory laboratory control of the achievement of the required material properties. If the granules have not yet acquired the required properties, they are supplied to the circulation system for reburning.

After crushing, tabular alumina is classified into various fractions and packaged into containers (sacks/big bags weighing from 25 kg to 2 tonnes). Finished products are supplied to the warehouse for further shipment to consumers.

All tabular alumina production processes are automated to a maximum extent. Automation of processes and monitoring and control at all production stages ensure the high quality of finished products.
